If chocolate were a feeling, it would be love, and if chocolate were an experience, it would be magic. That’s how you could imagine NAMM chocolate – it’s not just a treat, it’s an experience that takes you on a journey through the senses and the taste buds.

The uniqueness of NAMM chocolates lies in their ingredients, which come from completely different corners of the world. Our chocolates combine the rich, deep silky flavour of cocoa beans from tropical rainforests with the invigorating freshness and deliciousness of Nordic wild berries.

That’s how the NAMM chocolate magic is born. But who is the skilful magician who can skilfully bring these completely different worlds together and create one very tasty whole?

When the Alevs, under the leadership of their father Aivo, were first introduced to the world of chocolate in 2004, none of them could have imagined the long and exciting journey they were about to embark on and what the future would bring. What kept them on their chosen path, however, was a deep belief and an inner knowing that chocolate, with more than a millennia of history, has magic, mystery and the joy of discovery, and that this is what continues to fascinate and challenge them.

The real rush of inspiration and activity came when the whole family moved away from the city to the heart of nature in Võru County. They set up their own living quarters, a cosy home café and a small chocolate factory in the dignified old Roosiku schoolhouse. Or would it be more correct to say – a laboratory! These new thoughts, exciting ideas and special flavours that were collected and experimented with in the forest and then stored in chocolate bars are still very popular with chocolate lovers.

However, the Alevs are not the first chocolate masters to have drawn inspiration for their creations from Võrumaa’s incomparable landscapes and rich forests. For example, Juhan Jaik, once a respected local writer and poet, has captured his sincere love for Võrumaa’s extraordinary nature in poems:

“I know bogs where the tall reeds are dense,

under a sea of heaps, palukaid –

when kissing the bald heads of reeds

the beard hanging from the lips of a branch is green.”

Yes, at this point you might ask, why not chocolate, for example, as poetry, a declaration of love for nature that takes you back to familiar, beloved flavours but also to completely new discoveries? To new experiences, new sensations, new sensations of ecstasy?

But it is precisely so that the story of NAMM chocolates can continue and grow, that today the chocolate factory has moved to new, more spacious premises in Võru, where they tirelessly continue on their chosen path to bring you exceptional flavours and rich chocolate magic.
